Interface with the
Government's
Ministries, both state and national and senior government officials are invited to the Chamber from time to time for exchange of views on government policy matters concerting industry and trade.
Direct Promotion: Opening the new doors
Direct promotions are an integral part of BNCCI’s strategy to develop contact and establish rapport with overseas countries. As a part of this strategy, BNCCI organises high powered trade delegations to other countries and receives trade missions from abroad.
Entrepreneurship Development
The Chamber organises Entrepreneurship Development Training Programmes every year. The purpose is to equip the trainees with entrepreneurial motivation, skill promotion, information on the procedures to be complied with for getting up small industries and businesses. The trainees also come to know of facilities and incentives given by Government, Financial Institutions and Banks to SSI sector. Special programmes are also held for the women entrepreneurs.
Trade Fair
Since 1987 the Chamber has been successfully holding an annual Industrial India Trade Fair in the month of December at Kolkata Maidan. Organised jointly with the Government of West Bengal and in association with India Trade Promotion Organisation, the fair is the biggest event of its kind in the eastern and north-eastern region of the centres.
The Trade Fair has assured international character with the participation of SAARC countries.
The Educational Service
The Chamber has been conducting since 1998 a short-term comprehensive course on the Export-Import Management. The basic purpose of the course is to impart training to the participants on various aspects of export and import so as to make them better equipped to play their roles in the field of international trade.
Also, to sharpen the competitive skills of members and keeping in view that knowledge is power, the Chamber conducts seminars and workshops on topics of current interest.
Pragati - the Ladies Wing
Pragati - the Ladies’ Wing of the Chamber provides an active forum for discussion on the socio - economic problems facing women in India. It also undertakes programmes for the welfare of the weaker sections of the community.
The members of Pragati comprise of the wives, daughters and sisters of BNCCI members
Sub-Contracting Exchange:
The Bengal National Chamber of Commerce & Industry set up a Sub-Contracting Exchange in 2002-2001 at the Chamber premises on the "Plans and Programmes" adopted by Govt. of India - entrusted and sanctioned by the Development Commissioner, Small Scale Industries, Govt. of India, duly recommended by Cottage and Small Scale Industries Department, Govt. of West Bengal and SISI Calcutta, Govt. of India.
The BNCCI Sub-Contracting Exchange has been regularly Collecting tender information and tender enquiries from different sources and publishing them in monthly National & International Trade Enquiries Bulletin for circulation among its enlisted Members including the concered SSI Members of BNCCI.
