West Bengal Land Reforms Act, 1955 has been amended and a new fee structure for Land Conversion has been introduced by the State Government. On 27.06.2023, BNCCI organised an Interactive Session on the prospects to improve the Port system where the Chairman of Kolkata SP Mukherjee Port , Shri Rathendra Raman claimed that several initiatives have already been taken to emphasize the modernization of Kolkata Port. The major part of the cargo operations will be handled mechanically. To make Kolkata Port the first point of contact again a number of projects are lined up. On 28.06.2023 Comprehensive Media Coverages were done by Aajkaal, Ananda Bazar Patika, Bartaman, Ei Samay & Sangbad Pratidin regarding a special Interactive Session on “Port, Logistics and Infra Development in West Bengal” hosted by BNCCI on Tuesday evening where the Chairman of Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Port Trust, Shri Rathindra Raman addressed the session.
