On 27.06.2023, BNCCI organised an Interactive Session on the prospects to improve the Port system where the Chairman of Kolkata SP Mukherjee Port , Shri Rathendra Raman claimed that several initiatives have already been taken to emphasize the modernization of Kolkata Port. The major part of the cargo operations will be handled mechanically. To make Kolkata Port the first point of contact again a number of projects are lined up.
